About Our Artists

Mark O’Connor

Mark O’Connor is a violinist and composer whose concerts are always sold out. The New York Times says that he is “One of the most spectacular journeys in recent American music.” Mark's sophisticated work began with America's rural folk tradition and led him to produce such soundtracks as Liberty! For the PBS series of the same name. The Patriot included his solo talent in this Oscar nominated score. Appalachian Waltz was a collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer. His 4 violin concerto “The American Seasons: Seasons of an American Life’ premiered in 2000 and many premieres of works and tours surrounding works have followed. He has appeared in concert at the White House, The Presidential Inauguration, ceremonies at Atlanta's Olympic Games, major TV network shows and at Kennedy Center Honors on whose advisory committee he serves to name a few.
