We Need Your Help. Here Are Ways That You Can Support Us During COVID-19!

Since we have received a lot of questions regarding how to help Shepherd’s Table during this time, we have compiled this quick list of things that you can do while still staying indoors and safe. If you cannot drop off your donations, please contact our friends at Silver Spring Cares to schedule a pick-up.

For food safety guidelines, please pay close attention to the following:

  • Pay close attention to basic hygiene, such as washing hands before preparing food, or wearing gloves if you have them.
  • Sanitize the surface where food will be prepared.
  • All sandwiches and desserts must be individually packaged in zip-lock or paper bags.
  • For sandwiches with meat, they must be delivered within 4 hours after preparation. If they are refrigerated, they can be delivered the next day.

For more information and detailed instructions, please visit the Hygiene Food Safety page.

Please email our Director of Operations, Haile Gebregziabher, at [email protected], or dial 301-585-6463 X206, if you are interested in donating sandwiches or desserts. He will reach out when we need more sandwiches or desserts.

We also recently launched the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” initiative as our effort to expand help to local restaurants, who are going through changes in their operations and even facing closures due to the COVID-19. Every donation made to our initiative will be used to purchase food directly from our neighboring restaurants. This will help us cover our meal expenses and help our neighboring restaurants keep their businesses going as well. Your donation goes further than ever before! For more information about the initiative and how to participate, please visit our latest blog post “Support Our Community with Shepherd’s Table.”
