Volunteering at Shepherd's Table:

Volunteers are at the heart of the mission of Shepherd’s Table. More than 2,500 people shared their time and talent with us last year. Together, we impact the lives of women and men who are homeless or living in poverty every day.

Find the volunteer opportunity that matches your interests and talents, as each act of service is vital to our mission and impacts many lives. When volunteering, remember to serve our guests with a smile and always be respectful. Our minimum age for volunteers is 13, accompanied by an adult. Volunteers age 16 and above can volunteer on their own. For questions, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Marcy Merti, at [email protected] or dial X217.

Dress Code:

While the volunteer dress code is casual, we ask that you please not wear revealing clothing, skirts or shorts that stop above the knee, sleeveless shirts, or shirts that expose your midriff. Additionally, please do not wear clothes with political/religious messages. This volunteer opportunity is in a professional setting, and we want to ensure a comfortable environment for everyone. Lastly, all volunteers must wear close toed, non-slip shoes for safety.

Bright Meal Sponsorship:

Throughout the year, individuals, businesses, and other groups can sponsor a Bright Meal. A Bright Meal allows each individual/group to decide on a menu, pay for the food, decorate the dining room, and volunteer to help prepare and serve the meal. You can celebrate a birthday, anniversary or another important occasion. Businesses can give back, volunteer as a team-building activity, and develop a sense of community among co-workers. Our meal guests and volunteers thoroughly enjoy every Bright Meal. They are truly special occasions.

The cost of a Bright Meal is dependent on the time of year, as we serve more meal guests in the winter months. Review the agreements below, and if you have any questions or would like to schedule a Bright Meal, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Marcy Merti, at [email protected] or dial X217.
