Since we have received a lot of questions regarding how to help Shepherd’s Table during this time, we have compiled this quick list of things that you can do while still staying indoors and safe. If you cannot drop off your donations, please contact our friends at Silver Spring Cares to schedule a pick-up. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly if you have any questions or concerns: 301-585-6463.
If you are looking for some good inspirations, we have compiled a list of easy recipes for casseroles. You can quickly download it here.
For food safety guidelines, please pay close attention to the following:
- Pay close attention to basic hygiene, such as washing hands before preparing food, or wearing gloves if you have them.
- Sanitize the surface where food will be prepared.
- All sandwiches should be individually packaged in ziplock or paper bags.
- For sandwiches with meat, they must be delivered within 4 hours after preparation. If they are refrigerated, they can be delivered the next day.

Like you, we are moving forward through this challenging and uncertain time. But if there’s anything we have learned so far, it is that we are very fortunate to have a supportive and generous community. Your unconditional support gives us hope, lets us know that we are in this together, and will overcome it together.
We’d like to know how we can better communicate with you…do you want to know how to help? Lists of things we need? Stories of people helping each other? We are mindful of sharing too much but want to know what YOU want to see more of.
Please don’t hesitate to reach us on any platform if there’s anything you need. Stay strong, healthy and indoors as much as possible!
