Meeting Needs & Changing Lives
At Shepherd’s Table, we aim to improve quality of life, create a pathway towards self-sufficiency, and inspire hope for the most vulnerable in our community. We welcome every individual who walks through our door—a population experiencing food insecurity, homelessness, and poverty. Our fresh, delicious meals are curated by professional chefs and designed to maximize nutrition. But it doesn’t end with food– through case management and each program we offer, a fresh meal can be the entry point to a larger journey of healing and empowerment.
If you’re looking for help, you’ve come to the right place. Navigate to our services tab for more information on each program we offer or come visit us at 8106 Georgia Ave Silver Spring, MD.
In the 38 years since opening our doors, we’ve never missed a single meal. Our Comidas diarias program serves guests at Progress Place, our building at 8106 Georgia Ave. Más Allá de la Mesa distributes ready-to-go, drive-through (or walk-up) dinners throughout the week at sites in Prince George’s County and Montgomery County. The Urban Garden in our backyard grows vegetables and herbs to supplement our menu, which is always planned and executed by our team of classically trained chefs.
In addition to one-on-one case management, our team manages programs like the Centro de Recursos, providing clients with mailboxes, basic necessities and referrals to other services. Our Clothing Closet outfits clients with free, seasonably appropriate clothing, and our Clinica de Ojos works with Dr. Bernetta Davis to provide eyewear and glaucoma treatment. On Saturdays and Sundays, the Weekend Hub provides a safe space to foster community through art projects, movies, sports and guided group conversations.
