Position: Communications Associate

Salary Range: $45,000 -$50,000
Position Summary: The Communications Associate is a full-time position designed to provide leadership/support for the communications and marketing efforts of Shepherd’s Table. The Communications Associate will raise awareness of Shepherd’s Table and its programs in the community, and engage our supporters through social media, website/blog, newsletters, community events, and other communications and marketing opportunities.

Organizational Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the Development and Communications Team developing and implementing a communications plan in collaboration with the Executive Director, Director of Development & Communications, and other staff and volunteers
- Assist with regular internal communications within the organization
- Serve as a staff representative on Event planning committees
- Generate new donor/volunteer/supporter partnerships through community outreach activities
Social Media
- Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and growing Shepherd’s Table’s social media presence(Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,LinkedIn,YouTube)
- Generate compelling content for existing (or new) social media channels
- Manage engagement on posts, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Take photographs during Bright Meals, and other opportunities, for client, donor and volunteer recognition on social media
Website/Blog
- Manage the website by updating pages,creating new pages, and ensuring the accuracy of information available online
- Write content for the blog, working with other team and staff members to generate ideas, schedules,and capture stories of impact
- Write content for other community blogs, as needed
Eventos
- Design invitations and other event collateral
- Record content for, and edit videos as needed
- Support the planning and staffing of all events Newsletters
- Assist with designing and writing content for quarterly newsletters
- Design and distribute a monthly e-newsletter, and other communications
Design
- Design and update all marketing collateral, website pages and social media graphics•Design promotional emails, newsletters, blog entries,and other content
- Assist in the production of the Board toolkit for development & communications outreach in coordination with Directors
- Assist with messaging/design of flyers, emails, Powerpoint presentations or other communication to clients, volunteers, donors, Board of Directors,or partners
- Manage internal and external marketing and brandingrequestsKnowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Strong writing,design and computer skills,including Microsoft Office
Experience with WordPress and social media
Proficient in using InDesignand Photoshop
Experience in using Hootsuite and other social media analytics and scheduling tools
Experience with photography, and recording/editing videos a plus
Experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other streaming platforms for virtual events
Experience with Salesforce and Pardot preferred
High energy, positive can-do attitude, flexibility, ability to work as member of a team, attention to detail, high degree of initiative
Strong time management skills
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree 2-5 years communications experience
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
