Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), also known as IRA Charitable Rollovers, are the savviest way for individuals age 70½ or older to use their IRAs to maximize their charitable impact.
Whether you want to make a QCD gift to Shepherd’s Table today, request a tax acknowledgment letter for a gift already made, or just learn more about QCDs, you can find resources for each here.

Many companies match their employee’s donations to charitable organizations, and we appreciate you applying for the match to double the impact of your gift!
To help you get started on your plans and legacy, you can use FreeWill, an online tool that guides you through the process of creating a legally valid will or trust. It’s easy to use, accessible online and can be completed in 20 minutes. You can use this resource on its own, use it to document your wishes before finalizing your plans with an attorney.

Do you have an IRA, 401(k), life-insurance policy, or any other assets not included in your will? If so, these are called non-probate assets and you must plan your beneficiaries for them separately. Bright Meal Sponsorship:
Looking for a way for your company to give back to the community or give a gift to honor a client? Throughout the year, individuals, families, businesses and groups can sponsor a Bright Meal and give the gift of a nutritious, hot meal to our clients at Progress Place. This opportunity allows you to help plan and cover the cost of the menu with the option of also volunteering with your group.

Donate Goods:
Interested in donation food products or other goods? We depend on in-kind donations to keep operations going, so thank you for your support! Check out our Amazon Wish List and our Year-Round Donation List.
Deliveries of in-kind donations are accepted at 8106 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
Hours for donations Monday through Friday are 8:30 am to 11:00 am and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. On weekends, hours are from 11:30 – 4:30 pm.
We accept sandwiches and desserts year round! Just drop them off during donation hours. Please make sure sandwiches are labeled with type and are packaged individually. If you plan on donating more than 300 at a time please give our Director of Meal Services, Christina Moore, a call at 301-585-6463 X216 or email at [email protected]
