COVID-19 Updates: Our Meals Will Go On!

Shepherd’s Table is committed to continuing serving our community and is taking extra precautions to minimize virus transmission and preserve the health and safety of our meal guests, clients, volunteers, and staff.

As we have not missed a meal in 36 years, we are doing everything we can to continue meeting the needs of those we serve, who have nowhere else to turn. Starting Monday 03/16, we will continue providing meals, twice a day. The new hours for our meal service are as follows:

Brunch: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Dinner: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

We have moved the meal service outside, providing “to-go” boxes, and reduce the number of volunteers needed per meal service. The new hours will be effective until further notice.

Our staff and volunteers helped prepare food bags to distribute to our meal guests.

Our Resource Center will be open once a day, providing mail, toiletries, bus tokens, blankets and more, as follows:

Monday – Friday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: CLOSED

Our Clothes Closet and Eye Clinic will remain closed until further notice. In the meantime, we are not accepting any clothing donations. Moving forward, we are doing our best to continue our services and keeping everyone updated on these changes. Please continue to check back on our blog post and website for the most updated hours and changes in operations.

We have purchased all the necessary materials to get us through the coming weeks, but need your help to make sure we can continue to do so for as long as it’s needed. With over 70,000 residents in Montgomery County already at risk for hunger every day, we know the number is only going to rise, with the economic uncertainty that will surely follow. Please consider donating to Shepherd’s Table today and help us keep our services going for our community’s most vulnerable and at-risk populations. Every little bit helps!

You can also send in a check to Shepherd’s Table, 8106 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910. For more ways to help support Shepherd’s Table during COVID-19, please visit our recent blog post or contact us directly.

Stay safe, healthy, and indoors!
